About Darren Sutton Jewellery

Welcome, I’m Darren, the sole designer and maker behind Darren Sutton Jewellery, an Independent brand that creates unique contemporary handmade jewellery for the Individual to wear, adore & treasure.

With a background in the decorative arts and a strong interest in working with different metals, I was drawn to the world of jewellery design and creation. Though I’m mainly a self-taught jeweller, I honed my skills in silver jewellery making and wax carving in Birmingham’s renowned Jewellery Quarter.

I’m influenced by a blend of modern aesthetics, the striking forms found in old & new architecture and from the raw beauty of the sea and it’s ever-changing landscapes. With these influences in mind, all of my designs come from ideas, feelings & emotions. I will then write down these ideas accompanied with sketches on paper. Only when everything at the design stage feels right, then I will begin making the piece. Every piece of jewellery is meticulously designed and handcrafted by myself at my workbench in my workshop, using traditional techniques and high quality materials.

I’m committed to sustainability, I only work with recycled sterling silver and 9ct & 18ct gold, alongside ethically sourced & conflict-free precious gemstones. This dedication to both craftmanship and responsible sourcing is at the heart of my brand, ensuring each piece of jewellery is meaningful as it is beautiful.
